Abstract:

color has the ability to inspire, excite, soothe, heal and even agitate. This is particularly true for children, who can be extra sensitive to color's impact. So the importance of picking out just the right color for a young child's room shouldn't be underestimated. When choosing colors to use for your rooms home it's important to think about the mood you want to create and whether you want it to feel light and airy or cozy and intimate. Knowing the difference between warm and cool colors is the first step.

Abstract:

Baby corn is a premature ear of maize that is harvested as dehusked vegetable corn at 2-3 days after silking before fertilization. No enough attention has been paid to this kind of maize in the literature. In order to investigate the effect of planting density and pattern on yield and some qualitative and morphological traits in baby corn hybrid KSC403su a field experiment was conducted at College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran in 2014. The treatments were plant density at four levels: 100, 125, 150 and 175 thousands plant ha-1 and three planting patterns: one, two and three rows which arranged in factorial based on a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The results showed that yield, solar radiation, total soluble solid (TTS) and a majority of morphological traits of baby corn were significantly affected by the treatments and their interactions. With increasing of the number of rows and plant density, leaf area and plant height were increased, while the number of tillers per plant, number of ears per plant, husked and dehusked ear yield, husked and dehusked ear weight and ear diameter were decreased. The highest husked and dehusked ear yield were obtained in 150 thousands plant ha-1 and single row planting pattern with average of 1834 and 9128 Kg ha-1, respectively. In general, one row planting pattern at 150 thousands plant ha-1 were considered as the most suitable treatments and could be suggested for achieving acceptable yield and appropriate quality.

Abstract:

Introduction: We report on a three-year-old child, a case of battered baby syndrome.Case Presentation: A three-year-old female child was brought with multiple bruises, fracture of left femur and features of raised intracranial tension. The etiology was unclear at presentation. Inconsistencies in history given by the mother, a background of poverty and single parenthood, presence of multiple bruises over the body, multiple infarcts in Computerized Tomography (CT) scan, absence of external calvarial injuries and finally subdural hematoma in the autopsy report led to the diagnosis of child abuse. Conclusions: Every clinician must be alert to the possibility of battered baby in a child with multiple injuries.

Abstract:

Salinity is a major environmental stress that causes severe damage to crop and horticultural products and also reduces plant biodiversity. Nowadays with using grafting method man has overcome problem of soil salinity and ultimately, with the aim of reaching higher-quality products. In this study, water melon (cv. Sugar baby) was grafted on to the hybrid rootstocks of shintozwa (Cucurbita maxima×Cucurbita moschata), pepo (Cucurbita pepo), Buttle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria var gilan), Bitter cucumber (Citrullus colocynthis var kerman), Kermansha and Hamedan water melon (Citrullus lanatus var Kermanshah and hamedan), and using the hole insertion grafting method to the greenhouse. Grafted and un-grafted plants were exposed to to 0, 30 and 60 mM NaCl, in greenhouse and field conditions were studied. The results of this study showed that the content of sodium and chlorine elements in the leave of grafted plants onto shintozwa and pepo rootstocks in both salinity treatments was lower than of un-grafted plants. Relative variations (percentage increase) of relative water content of leave of grafted plants onto shintozwa rootstock as compared to those of un-grafted plants were 21. 16%. Also, the highest (430 g) and lowest (285 g) fresh weight of the shoot were related to sugar baby grafted onto shintozwa and un-grafted sugar baby respectively. The highest (8. 76) and lowest (5. 84%) of the TSS were related to the salinity level of 60 mM sodium chloride and control treatment (0 mM sodium chloride), respectively. There was no difference between the rootstocks in regarding to TSS, therefore, the studied rootstocks did not have a negative effect on the fruit quality of the watermelon of sugar baby cultivar. Grafted plants onto shintozwa and pepo rootstock showed the highest (18781 kg / ha) and the lowest yield (10154 kg / ha) respectively. Therefore, according to the results of this study, the shintozwa rootstock could be considered as a suitable rootstock for the watermelon transplant of watermelon of sugar baby cultivar. under conditions of salinity stress.

Abstract:

Background and purpose: Due to economic and biological, evacuation of the protein quality in food substances is of great importance. Therefore, biological, microbiological, chemical land combinational methods have been introduced and used to determine protein quality, among which suggested appropriate methods include net protein ratio (NPR), relative NPR, true protein digestibility (TPD) and protein efficacy ratio (PER). Regarding the importance of protein quality, particularly in low income families, this study was conducted in 2006 (1385) to compare the protein value of wheat-based cerelac (commercial) and Mixed Noodle-Soybean (domestic food) in rats. Methods and Materials: This experimental study was conducted on 64 male wistar rats of 21-day age, divided into eight groups receiving eight varying diets: 4 diets including cases (commercial and domestic baby food), standard (casein + Methionine) and basal (protein free) to investigate NPR, RNPR and PER and 4 diets to investigate TPD. NPR investigation lasted 14 days. To calculate NPR, protein intake and weight gain were determined in rats. TPD investigation took 9 days, and to calculate TPD, nitrogen intake and fecal nitrogen were determined. PER was investigated in 28 days and to calculate it, protein intake and weight change were observed in rats. NPR, RNPR, TPD and PER for the casein + Methionie group with 2 commercial and 2 domestic baby food samples were analyzed using Hest. Results: for casein + Methionine, Cerelac and domestic food group, respectively we found NPRs 4.3±0.4, 4.3±0.9 and 3.6±0.2 TPDs 92.8±4, 87±8 ; 88.5±4.1; PERs 3±0.2, 2.5±0.4 and 2.9±0.2. Also, difference of NPR and TPD were not significant across the two groups but that of PER was significant. Conclusion: According to the findings, NPR of the domestic noodles + soybean food is lower than commercial cerelac but acceptable. Also, its PER and TPD are higher.
